Tabata Total Body Workouts

We have all heard the numerous health benefits of Exercise, but sometimes are short on time. One thing I like to utilize are short workouts you can do anywhere anytime. One way to do this is to incorporate Tabata training.

Tabata training was discovered by Japanese Scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata and a team of researchers from the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo. They showed clinically that short bursts of high-intensity interval training has more impact on both the aerobic and anaerobic systems then an hour of moderate intensity. I first learned and began teaching this when I was employed as a fitness instructor at the then rated #1 Fitness Spa in the US “Red Mountain Resort” back in 2006. Since that time it has become very popular throughout the fitness industry. Here I have created a series for beginners to start with and progress. If you are brand new you might choose to do just 4 minutes to start every other day. Then progress to repeating it for example week one you do one round, then week two you do two rounds, week three you do three rounds with one minute rest between rounds. On off day’s you might choose to do my Core Tabata or get in some cardio going for a walk.

Over time our body adapts to the training we do and it’s time to progress and change things up. You will notice when you are ready as these exercises will begin getting easier and you will not be sore after the workouts. At that time progress to my “Intermediate Tobata: Total Body Workout” below.

Again here you might start with one round and work up to three rounds over the next few weeks. Then when ready, below is my “Advanced Tobata: Total Body Workout”. This is considered true high-intensity Tabata with plyometric training.

Hope you Enjoy these quick workouts to keep you healthy and fit! Feel free to comment below or share with a friend!
